Dino Costanzo

My name is Dino Costanzo and I was born to Dominic and Louise Costanzo in January of 1959. I grew up on our little two acre family farm and spent all of my waking hours playing baseball and begging my Dad to take me bird watching, hunting and fishing

As I grew older, my interests did not change.  I added a passion for painting the wildlife I had spent my childhood chasing. When considering colleges, I had to choose between baseball and painting. I chose painting as I got scholarships for that course of study. But baseball was still a passion of mine and I continued playing baseball, (not softball), until I was 48 years old. The highlight of my baseball career was playing in a game with my son on a semi-pro team in 2008, my last year playing. I singled and he doubled in the same inning. My son went on to be a small college All American and the Lord blessed me as I was hired as a 3rd Base Coach for his College team and we had the rare opportunity to share his college playing career together.

I pursued a career as an artist until the age of 33, but was unable to  make enough money to support my wife and son. The Lord moved my wife and I into the family insurance business, which we still own and is now run by my wife Robin and son Dominic (Nic).

I started reading the Bible when I was 29 years old and the Lord supernaturally gave me a vision of Hell. After that experience, I was shown the way to salvation by believing in Jesus Christ for my salvation. My love for my Savior and dedication him became the main focus of my life.

My Dad and I spent our time together, hunting, fishing, birding, watching baseball together, working together, and also spending countless hours discussing and following the Lord together. I will add that those discussions also included my Mother, who also became a devout believer later in life. My son Nic, came to a saving knowledge very early in life and pursues the kingdom with a vengeance.

The Lord decided to keep me involved in amateur baseball, after my salvation, and I continued to work for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, where we developed the largest college/mens baseball league in the country. We built a large intercity baseball complex for youth in conjunction with the Cincinnati Reds. I served as a National President for a USA Baseball Amateur Organization, the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF) and was a director of of a large youth baseball organization in Cincinnati, called the SouthWest Ohio League (SWOL). I coached for the famed youth baseball program, Midland for 20 years. I helped 57 young men get college scholarships to play baseball and pursue various careers, I also coached 2 major league players and 9 minor league players. As I noted earlier, I eventually served as a college third base coach for Clermont College for three years.

I retired from my baseball duties in 2013. With a huge amount of time open, I spent that year spotting and watching birds throughout the state of Ohio. in birding circles, this is known as a Big Year. I set the State Record seeing 326 different species of birds in one calendar year. As of 2020, my record still stands.

I met Daniel in 2000. Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that the Lord has made Resourcing Ministry Partners a calling for me  following in my father's footsteps. I am very humbled to be in service in such a way for our Lord's Kingdom.
